Reaching Customers in a Digital Age

Having a website that’s mobile friendly and being able to connect with clients on their smart phones is vital these days, according to a new report from the National Association of Realtors.

Difficult steps of buying a homeIn the newly released “Real Estate in a Digital Age 2019 Report,” NAR says that 76 percent of all buyers say they found their home on a mobile device.

The younger the buyer, the more likely they are to use a mobile device for their home search:

  • Older millennials (29-38): 81 percent
  • Younger millennials (21-28): 80 percent
  • Generation X (39-53): 78 percent
  • Younger boomers (54-63): 68 percent

As far as communication, the report shows that real estate professionals prefer to text with their clients.

  • Text messaging: 93 percent
  • Telephone: 93 percent
  • Email 92 percent
  • Instant messaging: 38 percent
  • Postal mail: 27 percent

If you’re a title professional trying to reach real estate agents, the top social media network is Facebook. Among Realtors who use social media, the most used is Facebook (97 percent), followed by LinkedIn (51 percent), Instagram (39 percent) an Twitter (33 percent).
