#GoodDeeds: Food It Forward
Chicago-based Near North Title Group recently sponsored a “Food it Forward” initiative through its charitable foundation to infuse much needed revenue into local small business communities while honoring healthcare workers and first responders.
The title company’s foundation, Near North Giving, contributed matches to gift cards purchased by employees and distributed them to healthcare workers on the front lines. The initiative raised over $2,900. Near North Giving distributed over 150 gift cards to local COVID response units throughout the Midwest and Northeast United States.
While other companies throughout the country are being forced to reduce hours or pay or even close their doors, we are grateful to be fully functioning thanks to our amazing employees,” said Dan Fowler, Near North Title Group’s chief executive officer. “Through this initiative we showed our gratitude to healthcare workers who risk their lives on the front lines of the COVID-19 epidemic while helping to support local businesses who count on those dollars as they struggle to stay afloat.”
Fowler said Near North Giving is committed to supporting causes nearest to the hearts of its employees, clients, industry and communities through philanthropic investments, volunteerism and community development.
“We publicly acknowledge our actions with the hope to inspire others, promote professional success and position our organization to maximize our philanthropic goals,” Fowler said. “I am so proud of the participation we generated through Near North Giving’s Food it Forward program, and am confident that through the leadership of our employees we will overcome this obstacle we are currently facing and will learn and grow from this crisis, emerging as an even stronger organization. Although we must focus inward physically, we encourage our Near North community to focus outward wherever possible.”
